Financial Adviser – La Playa Wealth

We’re looking for a highly capable Financial Adviser to help develop new business, cultivate internal relationships and to service existing clients.

La Playa Wealth provides Wealth Management and Employee Benefits advice to high net worth Private Clients and Corporate entities alike. Based in London and Cambridge, La Playa Wealth is the sister company of the well-established specialist insurance broker La Playa. 

You will be keen to develop, manage and service customers, providing seamless Wealth Management advice to Private Clients. Other responsibilities include:  

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Grow new and internal business streams
  • Provide corporate financial planning and benefits advice to SMEs, national and multi-national practices group clients
  • Liaise with marketing team on campaigns to develop new business
  • Meet with new and existing clients for reviews and explain the service whilst taking them through the complex corporate financial planning process
  • Work with the para-planning support team to produce clear, technically accurate, compliant and concise financial planning reports for clients, including high level financial plans based on their entire financial position, suitability reports and regular investment review reports
  • Keep up to date with technical and professional development, attend functions and events to build professional relationships and promote the firm
  • Continually develop and keep updated technical knowledge and professional skills
  • Assist in the continual cycle of improving the investment proposition and process
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Liaise with providers
  • Liaise with compliance advisers
  • Smart use of technology to improve processes

We’re looking for…

  • A confident, proactive individual with a high degree of motivation
  • A passion for exemplary client care – with demonstrable track record
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills particularly in uncovering clients’ needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication (verbal and written) and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships
  • A complete finisher with excellent attention to detail
  • Level 4, Diploma Qualified or Level 6, Chartered or Certified Financial Planner
  • An in depth technical knowledge and understanding of all financial planning areas
  • Excellent compliance record with detailed understanding of the compliance requirements
  • A thorough understanding of client circumstances and how they can affect the advice given
  • Significant experience in comparable roles 

You enjoy working with people and are able to establish great relationships, whether face to face or over the telephone or through social media.  You’re happy when working individually or as part of a team.  Your exceptional communication skills shine through, whether you’re presenting information in written or verbal form.

Marketing & Administration Assistant - La Playa

Part-time, 20-30hrs/wk (negotiable)

As a Marketing & Administration Assistant you'll assist the marketing team with many aspects of the marketing across all divisions, with key tasks including:

  • Supporting and liaising with the Marketing Director and Marketing Executive
  • Liaising with division heads and account executives around their marketing and administration needs
  • Research
  • Database management and inputting
  • Assisting with event co-ordination: internal staff events, corporate hospitality, promotional events
  • Implementation of direct mail campaigns
  • Updating content on the website (training provided)
  • Online marketing: email bulletins, social media, updating company blog and Facebook, SEO
  • Co-ordinating diaries for business development team
  • Monitoring/purchasing of stationery, refreshments etc

This role will be ideal for you if you are well organised, meticulous, enthusiastic and self-motivated.  You’re a resourceful lateral thinker, reliable, and a great juggler! You have excellent communication skills and feel at home online using social media. You’ll have a good grasp of the MS Office suite of applications, and perhaps have some experience of event management. You enjoy working with people and are happy when working individually or as part of a team. You’re happy and motivated when working unsupervised, organising your time around the priorities in front of you.
